Sheri R. Colberg, PhD, FACSM, is Professor Emerita of Exercise Science from Old Dominion University and an internationally recognized authority on diabetes and exercise. She is the author of 12 books, including The Athlete’s Guide to Diabetes and Diabetes & Keeping Fit for Dummies. In addition, she has published 29 book chapters and over 400 articles, including the latest American Diabetes Association position statements on physical activity and diabetes. She was honored with the 2016 American Diabetes Association Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award. She has over 50 years' worth of practical experience as a (type 1) diabetic exerciser and person living with diabetes.
