Monet

Monet

Monet was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 4 years old, just two days after her dad's birthday on December 4, 2018. Even though she is just starting in this new life of hers, she has pulled herself up by the bootstraps and is thriving. Monet wants to know everything she can about diabetes, and loves telling people about it. She cried when she left the hospital without a Dexcom or insulin pump. Within weeks of being home she was checking her own blood sugar and giving herself injections (with adult supervision), then on a Dexcom and OminPod within 6 months of dx. Monet wears her robot parts loudly and proudly. She has truly overcome her diagnosis and is living her best life and making awareness for T1D. Besides making noise for type 1 diabetes Monet loves to do anything and everything outdoors: running, swimming, hiking, skiing, going to the lake, the list goes on. She is in kindergarten with her twin sister and they have a little brother. They live with their mom and dad in a cabin in the mountains in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
